ThorSport Racing’s Ben Rhodes tops first Truck practice at Iowa

Ben Rhodes was the fastest driver in the Camping World Truck Series’ first practice session at Iowa Speedway Friday afternoon.

The ThorSport Racing driver finished the 85-minute session with a speed of 135.542 mph around the short track. He was the only driver to top 135 mph and one of two to top 134 mph. Rhodes accomplishment comes just a few days after a fire damaged ThorSport Racing’s shop in Sandusky, Ohio.

Filling out the top five was William Byron, John Hunter Nemechek, Spencer Gallagher and Timothy Peters.

The Truck series will have one more practice session Friday evening.
