Jeffrey Earnhardt brings out the caution at Michigan after his car was engulfed by flames in the right front wheel well towards the entrance of pit road.

It was a tough Sunday for the Earnhardt family at Michigan International Speedway.

After an earlier crash for uncle Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeffrey Earnhardt was the cause of two caution flags just past the midpoint of the Firekeepers Casino 400.

In the second wreck, a fire erupted beneath Earnhardt’s No. 32 Ford as he drove into the pits and stopped. The fourth-generation NASCAR driver scrambled out of the car and didn’t appear to be injured.

The 26-year-old was making his ninth start in the No. 32 this season. He still is seeking his first top-30 finish in the Sprint Cup Series.
