Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch fastest in first of 2 Saturday practices at Michigan

Carl Edwards led a pack of drivers over 197 mph in the first of two NASCAR Sprint Cup practices Saturday morning at Michigan International Speedway.

Edwards had the top speed of 197.770 mph, followed by Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch (197.737 mph), FireKeepers Casino 400 pole sitter Joey Logano (197.444), Ryan Blaney (197.406) and Brad Keselowski (197.395).

Sixth through 10th fastest were Martin Truex Jr. (197.082), Kyle Larson (196.829), Jimmie Johnson (196.797), Dale Earnhardt Jr. (196.791) and Ryan Newman (196.490).

The final practice session of the weekend will be from 12 to 12:55 p.m. ET.
