Alex Bowman outruns Erik Jones to grab Xfinity pole at Michigan

Waiting until literally the last minute, JR Motorsports’ Alex Bowman got past Joe Gibbs Racing’s Erik Jones to grab the pole for this afternoon’s Menard’s 250 at Michigan International Speedway.

Bowman earned his third career NXS pole with a qualifying run of 191.821 mph. Jones will start on the outside of the front row with a speed of 191.286 mph.

Third through 10th were Elliott Sadler (191.047), Kyle Busch (190.668), Blake Koch (190.653), Ryan Reed (190.648), Joey Logano (190.572), Justin Allgaier (190.511), Brennan Poole (190.370) and Ryan Sieg (190.365).
