D’ya wanna hear a cowboy, baby?
Rocker/rapper Kid Rock will be featured in a special concert as part of the upcoming Crown Royal 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
IMS officials announced Thursday that the multi-platinum recording artist, along with opening act Parmalee, will put on a full concert in the IMS infield on July 23, one day before the big Cup race there.
The concert will take place in the IMS infield after the Xfinity Series Lilly Diabetes 250 race.
This will be Kid Rock’s second performance at the fabled Brickyard. The Michigan native, who has sold over 26 million albums that run the musical genre gamut from hip-hop to rock to country, previously played at IMS on Miller Lite Carb Day for the 2007 Indianapolis 500.
“We’ll look forward to having a fellow Midwesterner join us for a great Saturday of entertainment at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway,” IMS President J. Douglas Boles said in a media release. “Kid Rock is a familiar face to music fans and race fans at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and is the perfect headliner for our big summer NASCAR weekend.”
General admission tickets for the concert are $30 and can be purchased online at www.IMS.com. After July 9, the price increases to $40 per ticket.
