Crash sends Kyle Busch to third consecutive poor result

1YDKebzHNbwx
Busch and Newman were fighting for tenth place at the Axelta 400.

Kyle Busch went straight to the garage after smacking the wall with 51 laps left in Monday’s race at Pocono Raceway. Busch returned to the track 11 laps down after repairs. He finished 31st.

Busch was running the outside lane in Turn 1 when Ryan Newman was under him. Kasey Kahne went under Newman, and Newman’s car moved up the track, clipping Busch and sending Busch into the wall.

The wreck sent Busch to his third consecutive finish of 30th or worse. He placed 30th at Dover after an accident and 33rd in the Coca-Cola 600 after an accident.

This marks the first time in the past 24 races that Busch has gone three consecutive races without a top-five finish. With three wins, Busch is set for the Chase later this year.
