Today’s Xfinity race at Pocono: Start time, weather, radio/TV info and starting grid

The NASCAR Xfinity Series makes history today when it competes for the first time at Pocono Raceway in the Pocono Green 250.

Here’s what you need to know for today’s race.

(All times are Eastern)

START: The command to start engines will be given at 1:07 p.m. by Pennsylvania Lt. Governor Mike Stack. Green flag is set to wave at 1:18 p.m.

DISTANCE: The race is 100 laps (250 miles) around the 2.5-mile tri-oval track.

PRERACE SCHEDULE: The Xfinity Garage opens at 7 a.m. The driver/crew chief meeting is at 11:10 a.m. Driver introductions are at 12:30 p.m.

NATIONAL ANTHEM: Alyssa Golden will perform the anthem at 1:02 p.m.

TV/RADIO: Fox will broadcast the race with its coverage beginning at 1 p.m. Motor Racing Network’s broadcast on radio begins at 1 p.m. SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will carry the MRN broadcast.

FORECAST: wunderground.com predicts a high temperature of 78 degrees at 1 p.m. with 30 percent chance of rain, increasing to nearly 50 percent by 3 p.m.

LAST TIME: This is the first time the Xfinity Series has raced at Pocono Raceway.
