Roush Fenway Racing announced Friday that the organization’s general manager, Robbie Reiser, will serve as interim crew chief for Greg Biffle’s team the next two events.

NASCAR suspended Biffle’s crew chief, Brian Pattie, for two Sprint Cup races because of a P3 penalty for body design violations found after last weekend’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Reiser is a former Sprint Cup crew chief, having served several years as crew chief for former RFR driver Matt Kenseth, including winning the 2003 championship.

“Having Robbie Reiser on the box to call the race certainly makes good sense,” Biffle said Friday at Pocono Raceway. “He has done a good job on the box and has won a title. That is not a disadvantage to us.

“That is really where the crew chief is important, calling the race, being on the box and making the right pit calls and decisions. I feel like we have somebody that can do that job and I think we will be fine with that.”
