Merchandise related to the late Adam Petty was removed from the marketplace shortly after his tragic death following a crash at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2000.
Now, 16 years later, Adam Petty merchandise will once again be sold by the Petty Museum and Petty Family Foundation, with proceeds to go to the Foundation, as well as Victory Junction Gang Camp, which was created in Adam Petty’s honor.
Among items for sale include original Adam Petty hats and shirts.
Also, the Petty Museum will host its annual PettyFestSaturday on May 28 at the historic site of Petty Enterprises in Level Cross, North Carolina.
NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard “The King” Petty will unveil a restored reaper shed, a historical landmark where Petty Engineering and Petty Enterprises was first established by Petty family patriarch, Lee Petty.
The original A-frame building was built in the early 1940s, with a tin roof and dirt floor. It will also include one of Lee Petty’s original race cars, which has been restored to its original condition and carries its original number of 42.
Richard Petty and son Kyle, a former driver who is now an NBC NASCAR analyst, will attend the event. There will also be a tour of the Petty-Toomes Homestead, where Richard Petty was born.
Fans can also take part in a “cruise in” with their own vehicles.
