Kyle Larson led as the Sprint Cup Series reached the halfway mark at Dover International Speedway.
Larson took advantage of a two-tire stop to skip ahead of many cars and passed Greg Biffle, who did not stop, shortly after a restart.
Joey Logano was second after 200 of 400 laps and was followed by Matt Kenseth, Biffle and Brad Keselowski. Martin Truex Jr. was sixth and followed by Jamie McMurray, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick and Jimmie Johnson.
At the start, Harvick led to the competition caution on Lap 42. He lost the lead on the ensuing pit stop to Edwards.
Harvick’s crew chief, Rodney Childers, told the team on the radio: “Shake it off guys. Long way to go. You all are a lot better than that.’’
Harvick quickly took the lead back after the restart.
The caution didn’t come out again until Lap 120 for Matt DiBenedetto’s accident in Turn 2.
Edwards again took the lead from Harvick off pit road during that set of stops.
Aric Almirola had to pit on Lap 131 under green after contact with Tony Stewart.
Regan Smith brought out the caution on Lap 144 for his incident. All the leaders but Truex pitted, giving Truex the lead.
Austin Dillon brought out the caution on Lap 185 after striking the wall and went to the garage.
