Kyle Busch moves into distinct company with Kansas win

The NASCAR America team looks at Kyle Busch's win at a Kansas track that has not been kind to him.

After bowling over the rest of the field in Saturday night’s GoBowling 400, Kyle Busch’s first-ever Sprint Cup win at Kansas Speedway has lifted the defending series champion into rarified air of sorts.

Not only did Busch become the first driver to win three races this season, more importantly, he is now tied with three-time champ Tony Stewart for most tracks won on by active NASCAR drivers.

Busch and Stewart have each won on 21 of the 23 racetracks on the Sprint Cup schedule, according to NBC Motorsports Researcher Chris Lee.

The only tracks Busch has not won on are Charlotte (24 starts) and Pocono (22 starts).

Stewart has not won at Darlington (23 starts) nor Kentucky (5 starts)

Who trails Stewart and Busch?

Most Tracks Won On By Active NSCS Drivers

Kyle Busch 21
Tony Stewart 21
Kevin Harvick 19
Jimmie Johnson 19
Matt Kenseth 19

Busch is also tied with Stewart for most wins by a Joe Gibbs Racing driver: 33 victories each.

In overall Sprint Cup wins, Busch is now tied with NASCAR Hall of Famer Bobby Isaac for 19th on the sport’s all-time wins list, each driver with 37 wins apiece.

Another NASCAR Hall of Famer, Tim Flock, is next for Busch to set his sites upon. Flock had 39 wins in his career. Mark Martin is 17th on the list with 40 wins.

Of course, Richard Petty is NASCAR’s all-time winningest driver with 200 visits to Victory Lane.
