A few days after parting ways with Ben Kennedy, Camping World Truck Series team Red Horse Racing announced it has added Matt Tifft to drive its No. 11 Toyota.

The team said Tifft, 19, has joined the team for “several races” beginning at Kansas Speedway on May 6. He also will pilot the truck at Dover International Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway with crew chief Scott Zipadelli. The news comes the week that Tifft will drive the Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 18 in the Xfinity Series race at Richmond.

“We’re very glad to bring Matt on board for the next few races,” team owner Tom DeLoach said in a team release. “He’s a great young driver with a lot of potential, and I think we can help him gain some more experience and continue to improve.”

Tifft has 15 starts in the Truck series and six top-finishes. His start at Kansas will be his first of the season.

“I’m really excited for the opportunity to join Red Horse Racing,” Tifft said in the release. “I’m looking forward to working with (teammate) Timothy (Peters) and (crew chief) Scott Zipadelli on our No. 11 Toyota Tundra team. We’re going to some tracks I really enjoy, and I’m confident we’re going to have some speed and we’ll go and try to get some really good runs.”

Tifft’s best result in his 15 truck starts is eighth place four times.
