Brian Vickers will make his sixth start of the NASCAR Sprint Cup season this weekend at Richmond International Raceway, driving Tony Stewart’s car.
Stewart has yet to race this season after suffering a burst fracture of the L1 vertebra in a Jan. 31 accident in the California sand dunes.
Vickers finished a season-best seventh at Martinsville Speedway two weeks ago. He finished 26th in the Daytona 500, 36th at Las Vegas, 13th at Auto Club Speedway and 37th at Texas in his other starts. Ty Dillon drove the car in the other races, including last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway.
No timetable has been announced for Stewart’s return.
