David Gilliland says he’ll drive a third entry for Front Row Motorsports in two weeks at Talladega Superspeedway.

Gilliland attempted to make the Daytona 500 in the No. 35 car for Front Row Motorsports but did not qualify. He’s not competed in Cup since, focusing on son Todd’s racing. Todd Gilliland seeks to become the first driver in NASCAR K&N Pro Series history to win his first five career starts in Saturday’s race at Bristol.

David Gilliland has 330 career Sprint Cup starts. His best finish was a second at Sonoma Raceway in June 2008 and at Talladega in May 2013 when he finished behind then-teammate David Ragan for Front Row Motorsports.

Said Gilliland about his Talladega ride: “They’ve worked hard and put a lot of effort into that car for that race. I’m excited about it. It’s an off weekend for Todd.’'
