Six Sprint Cup teams given written warnings during Texas race weekend

Six Sprint Cup team were issued written warnings at Texas Motor Speedway for failing various stages of inspection during the race weekend.

The teams of Austin Dillon and Kyle Larson were given warnings for failing pre-race laser inspections twice. Dillon’s warning was his second this season.

Trevor Bayne’s No. 6 Ford failed pre-race laser inspection three times, resulting in a his first warning of the year and the loss of 15 minutes of practice time this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway.

The teams of Kyle Busch and David Ragan failed pre-qualifying laser inspection twice. Busch’s warning is his second of the year.

Brad Keselowski’s No. 2 Ford failed pre-qualifying laser inspection three times, resulting in the team’s first warning and a loss of 15 minutes of practice time at Bristol.

In the Xfinity Series, the only warning given was to Ryan Preece’s No. 01 team for failing pre-race laser inspection twice. It’s his first warning of the season.

For every fourth warning a race team receives, regardless of if it is at a points or non-points event, it will result in the loss of pit selection.
