Erik Jones was the fastest in the first of two Xfinity practices Friday at Texas Motor Speedway after a lap of 186.968 mph.
Ty Dillon was second at 183.968 mph. He was followed by Brandon Jones (183.175 mph), Daniel Suarez (182.865) and Brennan Poole (181.837).
There were no incidents in the session. Brendan Gaughan had a cut tire.
