Social Roundup: The day after Fontana

With the Superman logo on his fire suit, Jimmie Johnson registered his 77th career win in NASCAR's premier series. Where do his accomplishments stack up with other Hall of Fame legends in the sport?

Social media is a mixed bag in the NASCAR family. It’s a platform that has provide us with many entertaining and insightful Q&A sessions from Dale Earnhardt Jr, Brad Keselowksi and Kyle Busch.

However, when things turn sour at the race track, it’s the place where feuds start, are mended or are passive aggressively picked at like an old scab.

It’s where we can see crew chiefs like Cole Pearn insult a driver in the heat of the moment before the engines have cooled on the weekend.

Tony Gibson, crew chief for Kurt Busch, has seen a lot in his day since breaking into NASCAR with Alan Kulwicki’s 1992 championship team.

The crew chief with the nickname of “Oldman” shared his thoughts on what NASCAR’s become in the age of social media on Twitter.

Former NASCAR driver Rick Mast chimed in.

It should be noted that Joey Logano has taken the high road and not tweeted at all since the end of Sunday’s race.

Likely to make things more interesting is the next track looming on the schedule: Martinsville Speedway on April 3.

Here’s a look at how others are expressing themselves in the wake of the Auto Club 400.
