Harvick remains atop Sprint Cup standings; Johnson, Edwards up to 2nd, 3rd

Kevin Harvick may have finished second in Sunday’s Auto Club 400, but he remained on top of the Sprint Cup point standings.

Harvick leads Sunday’s winner, Jimmie Johnson -- who climbed to second place from third -- by 11 points. Carl Edwards climbed two positions to third and is 24 points behind Harvick.

Denny Hamlin also climbed two positions to fourth and is tied with Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch (dropped three spots) for fourth position, with each driver being 25 points behind Harvick.

The drivers making the biggest gains – climbing five positions each – were Chase Elliott (from 21st to 16th), Ryan Newman (25th to 20th).

Drivers dropping the most were Greg Biffle (eight positions, from 19th to 27th), and Kyle Larson (seven positions, from 17th to 24th).
