Dale Jr., Jimmie Johnson meet their (kinda) alter-egos: Batman and Superman

Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson – make that NASCAR’s version of Batman and Superman – really got into character Thursday.

The two went to Hollywood and met with actors Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, as well as several others involved in the upcoming “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

In Sunday’s Sprint Cup race at Auto Club Speedway, Earnhardt will drive a special Batman paint scheme promoting the movie, which debuts nationally on March 25, while Johnson will drive a special Superman paint scheme as well.

The paint schemes extend to both driver’s helmets and their respective firesuits, as well.

Earnhardt is hoping for a bit of déjà vu, as the last time he drove a Batman-themed car, he won (June 17, 2012) at Michigan International Speedway.

Check out some of the tweets both Earnhardt and Johnson posted from the event, as well as some other posts showing how much they’re getting into their “roles” as the Dark Knight and the Caped Crusader:
