Fitzgerald Glider Kits sponsoring Xfinity heat races at Bristol

Bristol heat races

When the Xfinity Series’ new Dash 4 Cash heat race format debuts April 16 at Bristol Motor Speedway it will do so with sponsorship from Fitzgerald Glider Kits.

The Tennessee-based company, North America’s leader in glider kit assembly, has entered a multi-year agreement to sponsor the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300.

As part of the race format, after formal qualifying, two heat races will be conducted to set up the field for the main event. The qualifying races will involve odd and even-numbered qualifiers.

The top two series regulars from each heat race will compete for a $100,000 Dash 4 Cash bonus in the main race. Only Xfinity Series regular are eligible to win in the Dash 4 Cash. A driver who wins two Dash 4 Cash events will qualify for the Xfinity Series Chase.

Joey Logano will drive a Fitzgerald Glider Kits sponsored car in the event and the sponsor will appear on the No. 22 car in three other Xfinity Series races.

“Fitzgerald is a great American company, a leader in the transportation industry and a good fit as the entitlement sponsor for our NASCAR Xfinity Series April race,” said Jerry Caldwell, executive vice president and general manager for Bristol Motor Speedway in a press release. “The response to the new Dash 4 Cash heat racing has been outstanding and we are confident that the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 will be a fan favorite on the circuit this season.”

The Dash-4-Cash will continue a week later at Richmond International Raceway before returning at Dover International Speedway (May 14) and Indianapolis Motor Speedway (July 23).
