Just under an hour into the second Sprint Cup test session at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin crashed his No. 11 Toyota.
Hamlin had the second-fastest speed of the session prior to the one-car accident at 189.129 mph. He had the second best speed in the first session, which lasted two hours.
The No. 11 team will have to go to a backup car for the rest of the weekend as they prepare for Sunday’s Kobalt 400.
The second test session is scheduled to last three hours.
