Aric Almirola was the fastest driver in the three-hour long test session the Sprint Cup Series conducted Thursday at Las Vegas Motor SPeedway
The No. 43 posted a top speed of 192.940 mph during its 30 laps around the 1.5-mile track.
Filling out the top five was Austin Dillon (192.658), rookie Ryan Blaney (191.659), Kurt Busch (191.381) and Greg Biffle (189.800).
Jimmie Johnson, who led the first two-hour session, was 12th fastest.
The session was slowed about an hour in when Denny Hamlin got loose and wrecked. The Dayton 500 champion will have to go to a backup car.
