Just like last weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the Sprint Cup Series will use a new Goodyear tire combination this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Here’s the tire information provided by Goodyear.

Left-side code -- D-4688; circumference: 87.56 in. (2,224 mm); Minimum Recommended Inflation: left front -- 30 psi; left Rear -- 30 psi.

Right-side code -- D-4690; circumference: 88.46 in. (2,247 mm); Minimum Recommended Inflation: right front -- 58 psi; right rear -- 54 psi.

Sprint Cup and Xfinity Series teams will run different tire set-ups at Las Vegas. This is the first time Sprint Cup teams have run either of these two tire codes. The right-side tire uses Goodyear Racing’s multi-zone tread technology, which features two distinct tread compounds -- one for endurance and heat resistance on the inboard two inches of the tread and one for traction on the outboard 10 inches.

Compared to what was run at Las Vegas last season, the right-side code (D-4690) features the same compound on the inboard, with a different compound for more grip on the outboard. The left-side tire code (D-4680) also features a compound change to give more grip. Goodyear held a tire test at Las Vegas on Jan. 12-13 with Kurt Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth and Brad Keselowski.

Like at all NASCAR ovals greater than 1 mile in length, teams are required to run liners in all four tire positions at Las Vegas. Air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
