The Sprint Cup Series will use two new tire codes this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway with the series running a low-downforce package for the Folds of Honor Quik Trip 500.

Here are the details on the tires that will be used.

Left-side code: D-4680; circumference: 87.48 in. (2,222 mm); minimum recommended inflation: left front -- 22 psi; left rear -- 20 psi.

Right-side code: D-4682; circumference: 88.39 in. (2,245 mm); minimum recommended inflation: right front -- 50 psi; right rear -- 47 psi.

This tire combination was tested at Atlanta last November by Carl Edwards, Austin Dillon, Jamie McMurray and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

Sunday is the first time Sprint Cup teams will run both tire codes. The right-side tire incorporates Goodyear Racing’s multizone tread technology, which made its debut at Atlanta in 2013. The tire features two distinct tread compounds -- one for endurance and heat resistance on the inboard 2 inches of the tread and one for traction on the outboard 10 inches.

Compared with what was run at Atlanta last season, the right-side code (D-4682) features the same compound on the inboard, with a different compound for more grip on the outboard. The left-side code (D-4680) features changes to both compound (more grip) and construction to bring in line with what is run at other speedways.

On all NASCAR ovals longer than 1 mile, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions. Air pressure in the inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.

Teams will receive five sets of tires for practice and 13 for Sunday’s race.
