Watch LIVE: NASCAR America at 5 p.m. ET: Sprint Unlimited recap and Chase Elliott’s Daytona 500 pole

Today’s episode of NASCAR America airs from 5 to 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN and recaps the first weekends of on-track action of the 2016 NASCAR season.

Dave Briggs hosts with Steve Letarte from our Stamford, Connecticut studio and they will be joined by Kyle Petty from Burton’s Garage and Jeff Burton from Daytona.

  • Highly-anticipated rookie Chase Elliott made a splash this weekend by scoring the pole position for Sunday’s Daytona 500. We’ve got all the stories from “500” qualifying, plus reaction from Elliott, his crew chief Alan Gustafson, and fellow front-row starter Matt Kenseth.

  • Highlights and reaction from a wreck-filled Sprint Unlimited, which was won by Denny Hamlin and saw the return of Brian Vickers in Tony Stewart’s No. 14 car.

  • Being back at Daytona is an exhilarating feeling for most drivers, but this year, it might bring mixed emotions for Austin Dillon. Jeff Burton speaks with Dillon, who returns to the “World Center of Racing” after being sent into the catch fence there in a wild crash last July.
