NASCAR has approved HScott Motorsports leasing Premium Motorsports’ charter for this season. The charter ensures that the No. 46 car of Michael Annett is guaranteed to start every Sprint Cup points race this season.
Under the agreement that was announced Tuesday, HScott Motorsports was granted one charter. That will be used on the No. 15 of Clint Bowyer. The agreement allows for the sale of or short-term transfer of charters to other teams.
“The new Charter License structure is the result of monumental and unprecedented cooperation between NASCAR and the teams that will further advance the sport into the foreseeable future,” said Harry Scott in a press release. “The Charter System provides equity and certainty necessary for owners to build a successful business plan and maintain the health of their investment that will benefit fans and sponsors.”
Annett is entering his third season in the Sprint Cup season. His first season in 2014 was with Tommy Baldwin Racing.
