Take a look at Joey Logano’s new Pennzoil paint scheme

Joey Logano had a career season in 2015 with six wins and 22 top-five finishes, but his championship run was cut short after tangling with Matt Kenseth during the Chase. Could he be looking at a championship in 2016?

Pennzoil has revealed the paint scheme Joey Logano’s No. 22 Ford will have when it’s sponsored by the oil company this season.

The Pennzoil-only car will appear twice this year, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the March 6 Kobalt 400, and at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Oct. 8 Bank of America 500.

There were only four races in 2015 that Pennzoil didn’t share space on the car with parent company Shell or when it was the only primary sponsor. Those races were sponsored by AAA and Autotrader, the latter of which agreed to a multi-year extension with Team Penske earlier this month.

Autotrader will be on Logano’s car on April 17 at Bristol Motor Speedway and July 9 in a co-branded ride with Shell-Pennzoil at Kentucky Speedway.

Pennzoil Platinum sponsored Logano at Las Vegas and the fall Phoenix race last year.

Last year, NASCAR Talk’s Nate Ryan told the story of how Team Penske convinced Shell to sponsor Logano when he joined the team in 2012.
