After competing in six K&N Pro Series East races and four in the Camping World Truck Series in 2015, Jesse Little will continue to split time between the two NASCAR series in 2016, according to a report by the Charlotte Observer.

Little, the son of former Sprint Cup driver Chad Little, will compete in five K&N races and six to eight events in the Truck Series.

The 18-year-old hasn’t competed full-time in a series since running the entire Pro Series East season in 2014. He has two wins on the development circuit.

“It’s pretty expensive to do a full year in both,” Little told the Observer. “Of course, trucks are automatically out of the question with the budget we have, but K&N is also fairly expensive. We weighed the pros and cons and decided going to the quarter-mile tracks on the K&N schedule might not be teaching me much. But going to Atlanta, Texas and Charlotte (in the trucks) is a lot more valuable for my experience and trying to get exposure.”

Little received exposure from being the Rookie of the Year in the K&N Pro Series East in 2013 and last year when he was named one of 12 members of the current NASCAR Next class.

Little’s K&N ride will be fielded by Rette Jones Racing and the driver plans to race at Bristol, New Hampshire, Watkins Glen, Dover and Iowa, where he won last season. The team doesn’t have major sponsorship and will have to rely on any interested local businesses near the tracks he’ll be racing at.
