Shortly after legendary broadcaster Barney Hall’s death was announced on social media, heartfelt reaction poured in for the man who for so many fans was their eyes at the track, telling them what was happening and sharing stories of their favorite drivers through the years.
For many, it didn’t seem as if it was a NASCAR race if they didn’t hear the sweet tone of Hall calling the field down to the green flag or the winner to the checkered.

Barney Hall – the Rembrandt and Picasso of painting a picture of NASCAR. The Hemingway and Twain of telling the story. RIP my dear friend.

No one painted pictures with his words like Barney Hall did. He made me feel like I was there, at the track, right where I wanted to be.
