With the season-opening races for NASCAR’s three premier racing series now just a month away, fan favorite Sam Hornish Jr. had hoped to have a new ride for 2016 by now.

Unfortunately, Hornish, who was released after just one season of driving the No. 9 Ford Fusion for Richard Petty Motorsports in the Sprint Cup Series (he’s been replaced by Brian Scott for 2016), has not caught on with a new team as yet.

And you know what? He’s happy as can be.
