There’s something about Richmond International Raceway that seems to bring out some of the best in Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Richmond has long been one of Earnhardt’s favorite tracks. In 33 Sprint Cup starts, he has three wins, 10 top-fives and 14 top-10s.
In Xfinity Series competition at the .750-mile track, Earnhardt has been stout. In five races there, he has three wins, four top-fives and four top-10s.
Given Junior’s old school style of racing and his love of history of the sport, it’s no wonder that Junior is chomping at the bit to race in the April 23 race at RIR.
Not just because it’s at one of his favorite tracks, but also because that race – along with three others that make up the 2016 Dash 4 Cash series – will go back to old school racing with two 35-lap heat races, followed by a 140-lap main event.
