HScott Motorsports has relocated from its former home in Spartanburg, South Carolina to a new team headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina.

The 50,000-square foot shop brings HScott’s Sprint Cup team into closer proximity to other teams, as well as its Xfinity Series partnership with Chip Ganassi Racing (in Concord, N.C.), and its K&N Pro Series East partnership with Justin Marks in Mooresville.

“The new HScott Motorsports headquarters in Mooresville, N.C., provides our NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams ample room to prepare and maintain quality cars throughout the season and well into the future,” owner Harry Scott Jr. said in a team media release. “The move to Mooresville also allows us to better coordinate with our partners and suppliers.”

HScott, which has working Sprint Cup partnerships with Stewart-Haas Racing in nearby Kannapolis and Hendrick Motorsports just a few miles further in Concord, will likely be able to tap those resources more efficiently given the closer proximity.

Hscott Motorsports will have two drivers in the Sprint Cup in 2016, Clint Bowyer and Michael Annett.

Bowyer will spend one season with the team before he moves to Stewart-Haas in 2017 to replace the retiring Tony Stewart.

At the same time, Bowyer will likely be the linchpin for HScott Motorsports’ hopes of growing into a bigger and more competitive organization in the coming seasons.

As for leaving Spartanburg, Scott issued a public thank you to what is now his organization’s former home.

“I want to thank the city of Spartanburg and our friends there for being so supportive and helping to get HScott Motorsports launched,” Scott said.
