NASCAR fans in the Northeast are in for a treat as NASCAR Hall of Famer Bud Moore will make a rare appearance at the upcoming Motorsports 2016 Race Car and Trade Show.

The 31st edition of the show – one of the largest in the country – will run from Friday, Jan. 22 through Sunday, Jan. 24 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pennsylvania.

Moore will have a question-and-answer segment with fans and tell stories from his illustrious racing career on Saturday, Jan. 23, followed by a meet-and-greet and autograph session.

Others scheduled to appear at some point that weekend include current NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kyle Larson, USAC driver Dave Darland and former NASCAR and IndyCar driver John Andretti.

In addition, over 200 race cars from various motorsport series will fill the 250,000 square foot exhibition hall, along with 600 exhibitor booths selling items for both racers and race fans alike.

Moore, 90, was part of the second class of honorees to be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2011. He had a very successful career as a crew chief and team owner in the sport, including winning the NASCAR Grand National championship as crew chief to legendary driver Buck Baker in 1957.

Then as a team owner, Moore won championships in 1962 and 1963 with Joe Weatherly behind the wheel. In 1968, with Tiny Lund driving, Moore also captured the Grand American division championship.

Moore’s teams amassed 63 wins, 47 poles and three Grand National championships.

Others that drove for Moore during his nearly four-decade tenure included Dale Earnhardt, Cale Yarborough, Fireball Roberts, David Pearson, Darrell Waltrip and others.

Prior to racing, Moore was a war hero, taking part in five major battles in World War II, including the D-Day landing at Normandy, France. He earned two bronze stars and five Purple Hearts for his outstanding service to and sacrifice for his country.
