We kick off our head-to-head driver poll series today with Kyle Larson vs. Kasey Kahne. First, a little bit about each driver, and then you’ll have your chance to vote on who you think will have a better season in 2016.

It was a struggle for Kyle Larson in 2015 as many might consider he fell victim to NASCAR’s notorious sophomore jinx in his second full-time season in the Sprint Cup Series. After eight top-fives and 17 top-10s in his Rookie of the Year season in 2014 (finished 17th), Larson managed just two top-fives and 10 top-10s in 2015 (finished 19th).

Still looking for his first Sprint Cup victory, Larson will have a new crew chief in 2016 with Chad Johnson, who previously served in that role for Tony Stewart at Stewart-Haas Racing.

Larson’s former crew chief, Chris Heroy, has assumed the same spot with Brian Scott in the No. 9 Richard Petty Motorsports Ford Fusion.

As for Kasey Kahne in 2015, he had one of the worst seasons he’s had in his Sprint Cup career, finishing 18th, one spot ahead of Larson.

Kahne failed to win at least one race for the first time since 2010, failed to make the Chase for the first time in four seasons (also was the only Hendrick Motorsports driver who missed the 2015 Chase), and led a career-low 66 laps in the entire season.

Keith Rodden returns in 2016 for his second season as Kahne’s crew chief.
