Social Roundup: Twas the day after Christmas

‘Twas the Day After Christmas
And all through the South
Drivers got Gifts and
Some couldn’t head out

There is an old saying that famous people put their pants on one leg at a time, just like us ordinary folks. Those pants tend to be a lot nicer than the dungarees we’re wearing, so it is nice to take a moment to see their ordinary lives. The day after Christmas was a day to relax and revel in the year for most, while a few drivers took to social media to give us a little insight into how their holiday was going.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is one of the most popular drivers in the field, so it may come as no surprise that for him the gifts just keep on coming. On Saturday, his spotter TJ Majors stopped by with one last gift—apparently to replace the one Earnhardt wasn’t wearing in the Homestead garage.

Kevin Harvick took the day to play a pickup game with Keelan and Delana. It’s uncertain how Kevin fared, but Delana got sacked, so it’s a good guess that Keelan won this round.

Of course, all was not rosy for every driver. Clint Bowyer found himself stranded in a Wal-Mart parking lot en route to the Big Apple and suddenly realized that he had left a perfectly good plane sitting home. Don’t you just hate it when the same thing happens to you? At least his breakdown happened at the end of December instead of during the middle of February and in the Daytona 500.

While he sat there, he had a chance to check his own twitter feed, however, and noted the passing of Torie Costa, putting his mechanical difficulties into perspective.
