The overall Sprint Cup sponsorship picture for Chase Elliott’s No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet in 2016 is shaping up nicely.
The latest to join the Elliott camp is Kelley Blue Book, which will serve as primary sponsor for two races for each of the next two seasons, as well as an associate sponsor for several other races, it was announced Thursday morning.
Kelley Blue Book, which is a vehicle valuation and information source both in print and online, extends a relationship it began with Hendrick Motorsports in 2014 with Dale Earnhardt Jr.
“It means a lot to have them support the No. 24 team, and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of their car,” Elliott said in a news release. “Continuing what they’ve started at Hendrick Motorsports is going to be a lot of fun. Our entire team is looking forward to making the program a success.”
As of now, Elliott’s No. 24 has primary sponsorship for 31 of the 36 Sprint Cup races, with the five other remaining race sponsorships still to be announced.
NAPA, which sponsored Elliott for his two seasons in the Xfinity Series, will be the primary sponsor of the No. 24 for 24 races. Five other races will be sponsored by 3M, along with Thursday’s announcement of two races by KBB.
“The Elliott name is synonymous with racing, and with Chase’s recent successes and strong following in the sport, Kelley Blue Book is thrilled to continue its relationship with Hendrick Motorsports at such a pivotal point in his career,” said John Kovac, senior vice president for Cox Automotive. “Kelley Blue Book has provided car buyers with trusted vehicle guidance and expertise throughout its nearly 90-year history, so communicating that message through such a popular young driver, and in his first Sprint Cup Series season, is an honor.”
Elliott, 20, won the Xfinity championship in 2014 and finished second in 2015. He also was voted the series’ most popular driver in both 2014 and 2015. With his jump to the Sprint Cup Series in 2016, Elliott will be one of several drivers contending for rookie of the year honors.
