David Ragan might not know where he’ll be racing in 2016, but he knows how he’ll spend New Years Day.

Ragan will be one of 11 people present on the Shriners Hospitals for Children float in the 127th Rose Bowl Parade.

“I am honored to be a part of this tradition and hope to be able to spread the word about these two wonderful organizations, Shriners Hospitals and Shriners International,” said Ragan, who is a Shriner, in a press release. “Racing is such a big part of my life and I thought this was such an appropriate and fun theme to encourage kids to keep strong and enjoy the adventures that life will bring.”

The float Ragan will ride on is called “Fezzy Races to Adventure” and features a 17-foot-high plush bear driving a fire truck.

Also on the float will be Shriner leaders and current patients from Shriners Hospitals for Children. The Shriners’ hospitals, made up of 22 different locations, provides expert care for orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injury and cleft lip and palate, regardless of the families’ ability to pay.
