While the Coors Light Pole Award will continue in NASCAR, there no longer will be a Miss Coors Light to present it.
MillerCoors confirmed Wednesday that the 2015 season was the sixth and final year of the Miss Coors Light program.
Amanda Mertz assumed the role last April and had served as only the second Miss Coors Light in the program’s history.
“Yes, we can confirm that this season will be the final year for the Miss Coors Light program,” MillerCoors spokesperson Kirby Nardo said in an email to NASCAR Talk.
While the role of Miss Coors Light is over, all other partnerships between MillerCoors and NASCAR will continue.
“Nothing will change on the sponsorship front,” Nardo wrote. “Coors Light will still remain the official beer of NASCAR, including the official sponsor of the Coors Light Pole Award.”
Mertz replaced the original Miss Coors Light, Rachel Payton, who had served in that role since the program’s inception in 2010.
“This year has been more than a dream come true, from meeting some of my best friends, getting to interview this level of talent, traveling around the U.S, to watching Jeff Gordon take his last ride in NASCAR,” Mertz wrote on her personal Facebook page. “I’ll have these memories to cherish for the rest of my life.”
