‘Daytona Rising’ one month from completion

The final touches are being made on the $400 million “Daytona Rising” renovation project at Daytona International Speedway.

The superspeedway announced that the project is entering its last month of work before its completion in time for the 2016 season. The first event to be held after it’s finished will be the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona on Jan. 30.

Just completed was the addition of the “World Center of Racing” signage on the trackside tower.

The final month of the project, which started shortly after the 2015 Daytona 50o in February, will include the following:

· “Wrapping” of the “World Center of Racing” center entrance

· Final inspection of elevators/escalators

· Completion of sports lighting testing

Later this month the track will hold a ceremony for the lighting of a new track sign near the new main entrance, or “injector.”
