Danica Patrick among most-searched athletes in 2015

Danica Patrick ranks fourth among most-searched athletes on Yahoo in 2015.

UFC fighter Ronda Rousey ranked first and was followed by skier Lindsey Vonn, tennis player Maria Sharapova and Patrick. Tennis player Caroline Wozniacki was fifth. The top male was Tiger Woods in sixth.

Patrick ranked third on Yahoo’s list in 2013. She ranked No. 1 in that category in 2011.

Patrick ranked ninth on Bing’s most searched athlete list for 2015. New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was No. 1 with Rousey second. Patrick ranked fourth on that list last year. In 2013, Patrick ranked seventh in 2013. She was not in the top 10 in Bing’s list of most-searched athletes in 2012.

Patrick enters her fourth full-time season in Sprint Cup in 2016. She’ll do so with a new crew chief. Stewart-Haas Racing announced this week that Billy Scott will replace Daniel Knost as her crew chief for the upcoming season.

Patrick finished a career-high 24th in the points this season, scoring two top-10 finishes. She has six top-10 finishes in 118 career Cup starts. She’ll also enter this season with a new sponsor. Nature’s Bakery replaces GoDaddy. Nature’s Bakery is scheduled to be her team’s primary sponsor in 28 races this coming season.
