Denny Hamlin killed two birds with one tweet.

The 2015 NASCAR season is over, but the Joe Gibbs Racing driver continued the trading of barbs after the checkered flag waved over Kyle Busch’s first Sprint Cup championship.

Hamlin, one of Busch’s three teammates at Joe Gibbs Racing, tweeted out congrats to the driver of the No. 18. But he also got one final dig at the driver who came in second in the race and the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

The “pound em into the ground” bit is in reference to Kevin Harvick’s comment before the Chase started that he would do that to JGR on his way to his second Cup title.

At the end of the 10-race playoff, Harvick had one win, at Dover, while JGR claimed the title after three of its drivers won one race each.

Hamlin was eliminated from the Chase after the second round following a wreck in the closing laps at Talladega that began when Kevin Harvick made contact with Trevor Bayne on the final restart attempt. The resulting crash collected Hamlin and JGR teammate Matt Kenseth, who was also eliminated.
