Former President Bill Clinton and the Denver Broncos are among those who have tweeted about NASCAR’s season finale and wished their favorite driver good luck in the championship battle.

Clinton called Jeff Gordon “a great friend” in a tweet and stated that he was “excited to watch” Gordon’s last race Sunday on NBC from Homestead-Miami Speedway. Gordon has done work through his foundation for the Clinton Global Initiative where the goal is to “inspire, connect and empower a community of global leaders to forge solutions to the world’s most pressing problems.’'

Gordon went to a refugee camp in Congo in 2011 in search of ways to improve conditions there.

Martin Truex Jr. received support via Twitter from the Denver Broncos and John Elway, the team’s general manager. Truex’s Furniture Row Racing team is based in Denver, Colo.

Elway’s tweet was only his second in the last 88 days but he made sure to wish “All the best to our hometown ... team.’'

Gordon and Truex are also racing Kyle Busch and reigning champ Kevin Harvick for the title.

Here’s some of the support on social media for the contenders:
