Chris Buescher came into Saturday’s DAV 200 Xfinity Series race with a 24-point lead over Chase Elliott.
With Phoenix International Raceway not one of Buescher’s best-performing or favorite tracks, considering he finished 13th in Saturday’s race, one lap down, and lost just six points in the standings to Elliott, Buescher is still the man to beat in next Saturday’s season-ending and championship-deciding Ford 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Ty Dillon closed to 22 points behind Buescher, while Regan Smith is 24 points back heading to Miami.
