Phoenix International Raceway has announced that its fall 2016 Sprint Cup race will be sponsored by Can-Am, a manufacturer of motorized recreational vehicles and engines.
The sponsorship of the 500-mile race on Nov. 13 is in addition to Can-Am sponsoring the Duels At Daytona on Feb. 18.
“We are thrilled to partner with BRP to present the Can-Am 500 next November,” said PIR President Bryan R. Sperber in a track release. “There is a tremendous affinity for outdoor powersports among NASCAR fans, particularly in the desert southwest, that makes this a fantastic fit. The passion, energy and excitement synonymous with the Can-Am brand will be on full display throughout the Can-Am 500 race weekend as the Chase for the Sprint Cup comes to Phoenix.”
The fall Phoenix race will once again represent the lead-in to the championship race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
