The National Motorsports Appeals Panel on Thursday upheld a penalty against NASCAR member Chicago Paskiecz, stemming from an unspecified incident at Charlotte Motor Speedway last month.

Paskiecz was suspended indefinitely for behavioral penalties that violated Sections 12.1 and 12.8 of the 2015 NASCAR rule book.

The Appeals Panel issued the following statement:

“Upon hearing the testimony, the decisions of the National Motorsports Appeals Panel are:

  1. That the Appellant violated the Rule or Rules set forth in the Penalty Notice.
  2. That the Panel affirms and upholds the original Penalty levied by NASCAR.”

The Appeals Panel was made up of Lee Baumgarten, Ken Clapp and Steve Lewis.

Paskiecz has the right to appeal the Panel’s decision to the National Motorsports Final Appeals Officer, per Section 15 of the NASCAR Rule Book.
