Michael Annett will drive the backup car of HScott Motorsports teammate Justin Allgaier this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway after a hauler carrying Annett’s cars and equipment burned on the way to the track Thursday.
A team spokesperson described the contents in the hauler – including two cars for Annett and equipment – as a total loss.
The team dispatched another hauler – that of its K&N team of Rico Abreu – with backup cars and equipment. The hauler is expected to arrive at the track at 3 p.m. ET.
The hauler carrying Annett’s primary and backup car caught fire Thursday along Interstate 20 near Longview, Texas. No one was injured. A team spokesman says the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The car Annett will use this weekend will have its decals placed on the car when those decals arrive today.
