MB Motorsports stays with original driver lineup for Texas Truck race

mb motorsports

After meeting with both drivers prior to Thursday’s first of two Camping World Truck Series practice sessions at Texas Motor Speedway, MB Motorsports has is maintaining the status quo for this weekend’s race.

There had been consideration of putting Garrett Smithey behind the wheel of the No. 36 MBM Chevrolet Silverado for this weekend’s Winstar Casino 350 Truck race because Tyler Tanner was attending the SEMA motorsports performance show in Las Vegas.

“The original plan for the No. 36 truck this weekend was to have Tyler (Tanner) in the seat,” Smithley said. “Mittler Brothers Machine & Tool attends the SEMA show in Las Vegas each year.

“Tyler is an important part of the day-to-day operations at Mittler Brothers Machine & Tool and MB Motorsports and the team needed someone they could lean on in case Tyler couldn’t be here.”

But Tanner will pilot the truck as planned, and Smithley will compete in the No. 63 MB Motorsports Chevy Silverado in the season-ending Ford Ecoboost 200 Truck race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
