After three consecutive victories, Joey Logano holds no advantage over seven other Chase contenders entering the third round.
After the Chase field was cut from 12 to eight after Sunday’s race at Talladega Superspeedway, the remaining title contenders had their points reset to 4,000 entering Sunday’s race at Martinsville Speedway.
Three sets of teammates are among the final eight with Stewart-Haas Racing represented by Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch, Joe Gibbs Racing represented by Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch, and Team Penske represented by Brad Keselowski and Logano. The other two drivers in championship contention are Jeff Gordon (Hendrick Motorsports) and Martin Truex Jr. (Furniture Row Racing).
Logano has the most victories this season among the remaining Chase drivers with six. Gordon is the only remaining title contender who is winless this season.
