NASCAR announced several warnings to four Sprint Cup teams from this past weekend’s race at Kansas Speedway, including the team of Chase for the Sprint Cup contender Dale Earnhardt Jr.
All four teams were assessed warnings for the following infractions:
* No. 88 Chevrolet (driver: Dale Earnhardt Jr.) for failing pre-race inspection twice.
* No. 83 Toyota (driver: Matt DiBenedetto) for failing pre-qualifying inspection twice.
* No. 7 Chevrolet (driver: Alex Bowman) for failing pre-race inspection twice.
* No. 21 Ford (driver: Ryan Blaney) for violating Section 10.7.2.b of the NASCAR Rule Book, not following directive from NASCAR by having covers over some of their suspension parts in the garage.
This is the second straight week that Blaney’s and Earnhardt’s teams have been issued warnings for violation of NASCAR rules.
Any team that accumulates four warnings since August will lose the chance to pick their pit stall at the next race.
