Today’s race at Kansas: Start time, TV info and more

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will play host Sunday to the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway.

Here are the particulars (all times are ET):

START: Mark-Paul Gosselaar will give the command for drivers to start their engines at 2:22 p.m. ET. The green flag is scheduled for 2:31 p.m.

DISTANCE: The race is scheduled for 267 laps (400 miles) around the 1.5-mile oval.

PRERACE SCHEDULE: The Sprint Cup garage will open at 8:30 a.m. The drivers meeting is at 1:15 p.m. Driver introductions are at 1:35 p.m.

NATIONAL ANTHEM: It will be performed by Gracie Schram at 2:16 p.m.

TV/RADIO: NBC will broadcast the race (and streaming available at http://stream.nbcsports.com/liveextra) at 2:30 p.m. The prerace will start with NASCAR America at 1 p.m. on NBCSN and Countdown to Green at 1:30 p.m. on NBCSN. Motor Racing Network will broadcast the race on radio and at MRN.com. SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will carry MRN’s broadcast.

FORECAST: The wunderground.com site predicts 64 degrees at race time with a 0% chance of rain.

PAST TWO RACES: On May 9, Jimmie Johnson overcame a starting spot of 19th with shrewd pit strategy, taking first by staying on track under yellow and leading the final 10 laps. On Oct. 5, 2014, Joey Logano led a race-high 122 laps for his fifth and final victory of the season.
